The Chemist: What I'm Thankful For

Hey Everyone! I hope you enjoyed reading our posts about keeping a work-life balance and took note of some of our tips. This week, in the spirit of Thanksgiving, we decided to blog about what we're thankful for. This is probably going to sound a little my "What keeps me motivated" post, but it's definitely worth repeating.

First off, I’m thankful for my family. They are the most important people in my life and I wouldn’t be where I am today without all of their love, support, and prayers. They’ve been with me every step of the way during my journey and I love each and every one of them for keeping me going. They’re my biggest role models and fans and I’m so very thankful for my relationship with them.

Next I want to say thank you to my friends. They’re my hypemen honestly. It’s always such a great feeling knowing that I can call and count on each and every one of them. They’re my listening ears, my shoulders to cry on, arms that hug, and they have the biggest hearts. The love they show me goes unmatched and I am so blessed to call them “friends”. From hour long FaceTimes to sporadic weekend trips, they always have had my back and I truly appreciate them for that.

I’m also thankful for my past. Without it, I wouldn’t have been able to progress to the woman, daughter, sister, niece, cousin, friend, and chemist that I am today. I have learned soooooo much in my 24 years of life and I wouldn’t change a thing. Every obstacle, and success, has molded me and given me the opportunity to grow. Even the bad parts are a blessing because those are the experiences that teach you the most. Those are the lessons that you want to pay attention to.

Lastly, but certainly not least, I’m thankful for my relationship with God. If anyone knows me through and through it is him. He’s always been my constant, my stability and I’m here today really because of him. The path he’s carved out for me has been an experience so far and I am hopeful for the things to come. I pray that everything I do suites the purpose he has for me.

The holiday season has always been a reflection time for me. It’s a time to sit back and enjoy all that the year has brought me and look forward to the next year to come. Please take time out this holiday season to do your own reflecting. Think about where you were a year ago and be proud of the progress you’ve made, no matter how small.

What are you thankful for? Let me know your answers.
