Hey everyone! Sorry I didn't post last week, but I have a good reason that I'll explain shortly. This week, we're doing life updates just so you know what we've been up to over the past few months.
So first off, school is back in session and this year I don't have to take classes!! I'm very excited about the thought of not having to ever be graded on anything again in my life. It also gives me one last thing to worry about since I have a little more time to focus on my research and NOBCChE.
Another new thing happening is that I am no longer on fellowship, which means I have to teach this year. Anyone that knows me probably would tell you that I'm going to end up teaching, but I do enjoy it so far. I'm a TA for gen chem 2 and I teach two recitations and one lab and so far so good. I love my kiddos so it should be a good semester. Now grading lab reports? I am NOT looking forward to doing that every week, so we'll see how that goes. I also like the professor I teach for! I'll report back with crazy teaching stories, I'm sure I'll have some.
I think the biggest life update I have is that I passed my candidacy exam!! That's why I didn't post last week, my exam was that day and I was exhausted! This was the longesttttttt 8 months of my life, preparing for this exam, but it's over now and I couldn't be happier. The next thing really is my fourth year presentation and then I graduate - which is scary to think about, but that's a post for another time.
All in all, everything's giong pretty well on my end. How's everything with you guys? Accomplished any of your goals lately? Tweet me your responses!
